Kohima, July 8 (MExN): Nagaland participated in the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change’s nationwide Hariyali Saptah plantation drive on July 8.

The main programme happened in Delhi where Bhupender Yadav, Minister, MoEF&CC and Ashwini Kumar Choubey, MoS, MoEF & CC graced the programme. Altogether, the drive was conducted in 150 locations across the country, according to a press release from Kohima Divisional Forest Officer Rajkumar M.

In Nagaland, it was organized at four locations, two in Kohima and one each by Mokokchung Division and Dimapur Division, the release stated.

Dharmendra Prakash, PCCF & HoFF was the chief guest for the programme which was organised by Nagar Vans of Kohima in Forest Colony. He mentioned about the importance of environment and motivated everyone to take up initiatives to protect the environment, the release stated. The Nagar Vans also organised a similar programme at the Botanical Garden.
