Nagaland’s COVID-19 tally at 1460 with 2nd highest daily spike of 75 cases

Nagaland on Tuesday posted its second highest single-day of 75 fresh COVID-19 cases taking the total State’s tally to 1460.

Out of 75 new cases, as many as 51 were reported from State capital, Kohima, while the rest were from Dimapur, Phek, Wokha, Mon, Dimapur and Tuensang. 

The highest single-day day surge was reported in the State on July 23 with 90 new cases and the previous 2nd highest daily spike was on July 13 at 71.

“75 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected out of 450 test results received. 51 in Kohima, 10 in Phek, 7 in Wokha, 3 each in Mon & Dimapur & 1 in Tuensang,” Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom updated on Twitter.

With this, Nagaland COVID-19 tally as of 12:41 PM, July 28 stood at: Total – 1460; Active-886; Recovered-569; and Death- 5*. 

As per official data, the 5 deaths reported from Dimapur are yet to be established as due to COVID-19. It said that the cases are “under investigation for establishing whether they are COVID-19 related deaths.”
