NCCAF to organize collection of wild vegetables

Dimapur, June 2 (MExN): Coinciding with the World Environment Day, the Nagaland Community Conserved Areas Forum (NCCAF) will be organizing collection of wild vegetables from their conserved areas and orchards, for the quarantine centres and the frontline workers on June 5.

“This venture is undertaken to share the blessings of our conserved areas and orchards with our people who are quarantined and also to show our solidarity with the frontline workers who are selflessly fighting the pandemic throughout the State during these uncertain times,” Heirang Lungalang, Secretary, NCCAF stated in a press release.

“NCCAF, with a membership of almost 30 CCAs spread across the State, is extremely delighted to celebrate the Day with the rest of the World in remembering how Mother Nature provides our many needs. Nagaland is a proud State with so much green cover still being maintained, courtesy the Village Councils and the people, upholding the rich tradition of our forefathers who lived with their needs met from the bounty of their forests,” it added.

The programme is co-sponsored by the Nagaland Empowerment of People through Economic Development (NEPED).
