DIMAPUR, JULY 21 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) Parent Body conducted a meeting on July 20 and unanimously resolved to completely ban taxation activities from all the business establishments, agencies, companies, Heads of the Departments (HOD), officers, well-wishers, contractors, etc. till further notification is served. “This resolution has been enforced through this press note due to gross violation of Government directives by some anti-social persons and self-style individuals for their personal interest which ultimately tarnished the image of the Naga National Council Parent Body,” a press note from the NNC-PB media cell stated. “Besides that, such kind of random taxation causes unnecessary burden to the concerned fraternities for developmental works that severely affects the general public to have the smooth function of society,” it added. It asked the “public and well-wishers to completely stop paying taxes in the name of NNC-PB Government till further official notification.”
