Mokokchung, December 3 (MExN): International Day of Person with Disabilities was held at Ongpangkong Salang Hall, Mokokchung on December 3 under the theme, “Not all disabilities are visible” with SE (PHED) Mokokchung Circle Er T Bendang as special guest.
A DIPR report stated that the programme was organized by Mokokchung District Disabled Forum (MDDF) in collaboration with Care and Support Society and District Election Office Mokokchung.
Er Bendang called upon all to give public awareness and acceptance of the disabilities or differently abled persons in our society. “We all should celebrate on the achievement and contributions made by the disabled persons to our societies,” he said further calling for support to the differently abled.
Zerutso, EAC Mokokchung Nodal Officer, SVEEP, Mokokchung called upon the people with disabilities (PWD) those who have attained 18 years of age to enroll in the electoral roll and take part in election process by casting their vote in the election.
Imchawati Kichu, Advisor MDDF gave the keynote address. The programme was chaired by Atila, Children Co-ordinator, welcome note by Arenli Jamir, DDPO project co-ordinator, special prayer for PWDs by S Daniel Ao Pastor (NCRC) and vote of thanks proposed by Imkongnungchet Kichu, president MDDF. Special gift were distributed to all the PWDs those who attend the programme.
