NPCC welcomes PCoNPI resolutions

Dimapur, July 17 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today welcomed the Parliamentary Committee on Naga Political Issue’s 16 July 2022 meeting resolutions and said that all the 60 members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly have finally ‘realised and asserted’ their position.

The resolutions by the NLA, the only mandated authority, have finally given recognition to the two official agreements between “Government of India and Naga National Workers namely the Framework Agreement with the NSCN (IM) and the Agreed Position with the Working Committee of the NNPGs,” it said.

“It is also a reaffirmation of the 31st October 2019 declaration on talks being officially concluded,” added the NPCC in a press release issued by its President K Therie. “With the ‘Peoples’ Government’ finally endorsing the two official agreements and the official conclusion of talks, there is no longer any reason for the GoI to delay implementation of the solution,” it said, adding that the ball now lies in latter’s  court to implement solution.

‘It only requires the political will of the BJP-led central government as committed in 2018 - ‘Election for Solution’ by BJP National general secretary and in-charge of North East Ram Madhav,’ it maintained.
