NSCN (IM) denies rival claim on Tamenglong intrusion

Dimapur, June 13:  Outrightly denying the claim made by the NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region that the outfit had intruded into the Tamenglong headquarters, NSCN-IM Deputy Kilonser for information and publicity Kraibo Chawang said that not a single NSCN-K cadre would be found in the headquarters.

 Informing this to Newmai News Network today Kraibo Chawang alleged that the Indian security forces (Assam Rifles) had protected the NSCN-K cadres to which the latter had managed to escape before the NSCN-IM onslaught pounds on the rival cadres. The NSCN-IM Deputy Kilonser stated that few days ago cadres from his outfit attacked the NSCN-K cadres at Naga Ching under Tamenglong district but it had been the Indian security forces who gave protection to the NSCN-K cadres.Kraibo said that under the supervision of the Assam Rifles the NSCN-K cadres had managed to escape from that area.

“How can the Khaplang gang stay in the Tamenglong areas when the general public do not support them. Since they have no public support the Khaplang gang had to leave the area immediately.We are hunting for them,” stated the NSCN-IM MIP Deputy Kilonser.

Kraibo Chawang further stated that the NSCN-K cadres had left for Jiribam area after crossing the Barak River.

When asked about the causalities on the Naga Ching attack launched by the NSCN-IM on the NSCN-K, the Deputy Kilonser of the NSCN-IM said that he could not ascertain as of now regarding the injuries or casualities if there was any on that incident.He termed the NSCN-K as “newspaper tiger” meaning that the NSCN-K is courageous only in the newspapers/media war and nowhere else.

Reaction from the NSCN-IM has come following the claim made by the NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region that the latter had intruded into the Tamenglong headquarters which is, otherwise an NSCN-IM stronghold.
