NSCN (IM) parliamentarians hold consultative meeting

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 17 (MExN): Parliamentarians of the NSCN (IM) comprising of Steering Executive Members, Steering Committee Members, Kilonsers, Deputy Kilonsers and Tatars of Ao, Lotha and Naga Rengma Hills (CAA) held a consultative meeting at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on August 17.

A press release from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) said that the highlight of the meeting was focused on the political concept of Naga political movement under the banner of National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) with “Nagalim for Christ” as the slogan.

“It was under this slogan that helped motivate the NSCN members, maintain unity and cooperation throughout. The spirit of self sacrifice of the Nagas and the un-daunting fighting spirit of NSCN find meaning from this slogan,” the press release said.

“It was under this ‘never give up spirit’ that NSCN asserted its stand boldly during the Indo-Naga political talks beginning from 1997, and ultimately comes to fruition when the historic Framework Agreement was signed on 3rd August, 2015,” it added. The members exhibited their commitment to stand by the “hard earned achievement that will define the indelible sovereign identity of the Naga people and Naga Nation.”

The meeting also took note of the on-going conflict in Manipur and resolved to “remain extra vigilant to protect our land and political identity.”
