Nyemlang Konyak led NSCN (K) reaffirms stand on Naga issue

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 3 (MExN): The Nyemlang Konyak led NSCN (K) today reaffirmed its commitment to Naga sovereignty and said that it “tirelessly and continuously hold on to the baton and pass on to all successive Naga generations.”

A press release from Nikato Pilot Sumi, Deputy Kilonser, of the Nyemlang Konyak led NSCN/GPRN meanwhile stated that the “lull of silence of the majority against the cacophony of the few emasculated India centric leaders shouldn't be construed as the voice of the Nagas and be taken mistakenly as a docile sign of acceptance.”

“Indo- Naga political conflict has reverberated and resurged with unabated rigour and strength throughout our contentious history, due to the very simple fact of Indian Government's insidious insincerity and willful military occupation of Naga lands,” it said.

The press release further claimed that “all politically discordant issues of India have their origins in its militarily imposed union on all its so called states.” It said that the Indian Government “would fare well to heed to reason and sensibility rather than be carried away by its military might.”

“Might can never imprison or dissuade our consciousness of a sovereign Nagaland for Christ,” the statement claimed and said that the “vision of our forefathers of a sovereign Nagaland for Christ are very well alive in our hearts today.”
