A long time ago... Folk tales telling competition held in Longmisa

In a first of its kind, the Ongpangkong Kaketshir Mungdang (OKM) organised a folk tale telling competition at Longmisa  village on October 8. A total of 32 participants from 17 different villages from Ongpangkong range participated at the competition. 


The Tuesday's event was part of the ongoing series of competitions initiated by the OKM focusing on preserving and promoting one's mother tongue.

 

Initiated five years ago, the folk tale telling competition was the fourth phase.


In the inaugural programme of the fourth phase of competition, Bendang T Jamir, Retd Deputy Director, Department of Sericulture was the guest of honor, while Ongpangkong Watsü Mungdang  president, Talichula and Langpangkong Kaketshir Mungdang president, Washimong Sadem Longkumer were also present during the inaugural programme.


The fifth phase of the competition will be held at Longsa village, Mokokchung on February 8, 2020.

 

The final phase of the competition will held during the forthcoming general conference of the OKM where the one all winner will be declared.
