Phek: Khulazu Basa gets mobile tower to facilitate students’ online lessons

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): A new mobile tower (airtel) was inaugurated on September 6 at Khulazu Basa village under Phek district in an effort to bring better network coverage to the villagers in general and to students’ community in particular. 

Since there was no coverage and no mobile tower in the village, the Bharti Airtel Ltd. initiated on constructing one in the village as part of its rural outreach programme, a press release received from Khulazu Basa village council.

The new mobile tower is expected to help students in particular for their online studies, Sulanthung Ngullie, Territorial Manager, Kohima, Bharti Airtel Ltd. informed. He added that airtel sim cards are being distributed to some of the students and youth in the village.

The Khulazu Basa village council organised a short dedicatory programme on Wednesday morning where in head deacon of Khulazu Basa Baptist Church, Meshutsu Rhakho, pronounced the dedicatory prayer and formally inaugurated the newly constructed tower.

The village council expressed gratefulness to the company for taking up such initiative in the village. It may be mentioned that the new tower is the first mobile tower to have been erected in the village.
