PTC bans hunting, killing wildlife; shifts taxi stand

DIMAPUR OCT 29 (MExN): In another major boost to local peoples’ effort to conserve wild life, the Peren Town Council (PTC) endorsing the Government’s decision to ban hunting and killing of wild animals, has decided to ban hunting and killing wildlife within its jurisdiction calling upon authorities of neighboring villages to follow suit for the preservation of the same.

The move was also to maintain ecological balance in Peren District adding that although the PTC would on its part strictly implement the ban, the public have also been requested to extend their fullest cooperation. 

Among the decisions taken by the PTC, a copy for which was made available here issued by Namzie Hegwang, Deputy Chairperson, The PTC also directed the Taxi Union, Peren and the general public that with effect from November 1 the taxi stand at Peren would be shifted to the premises of the Town Council Office.

All the concerned have been informed to park their taxis at the said location effective from the said date.

It further informed that as per the joint resolution taken by the PTC, Peren Town Women Welfare Organization and the Peren Town Youth Organization, the weekly bazaar would be conducted every Wednesday at the Indoor stadium premises with effect from November 2.

All interested vendors and traders from within Peren as well as from outside the district including from Dimapur, have been invited to participate in the said bazaar. However traders and vendors from Dimapur desirous of participating in the said bazaar have been asked to contact the PTC in advance.
