Review meeting for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs held

Kohima, February 20 (MExN): Chief Secretary of Nagaland, J Alam, IAS held a departmental review meeting with the AHoDs and HoDs of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs at the Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall, Kohima on February 19.

According to a DIPR report, the Departmental officials made a detailed presentation of the Department’s activities including development programs and welfare schemes, innovative practices, establishment matters, and other issues.

The Department highlighted the meeting on the various welfare schemes and projects of the State Government and Central Government being implemented and monitored by the Department such as Swachh Bharat Mission, AMRUT, PM SVANidhi, PMAY (Housing for All) etc. The meeting also deliberated on how to implement the welfare projects properly, challenges and other issues.

The Chief Secretary stated that both Urban Development and Municipal Affairs were very important departments for the State Government and carries a huge responsibility on their shoulders. He said that with a lot of welfare projects under their supervision, both Departments have the opportunity to help the people of the State benefit from the schemes. He also called upon the departments to plan for the future and come up with innovative ideas for the successful implementation of the welfare schemes.

Alam encouraged the departments to continue to work for the people of the State with dedication, enthusiasm and bring laurel to the State.
