‘Revoke all forms of ban’

Naga Hoho welcomes revocation order lifting ban on Sumi Hoho

Dimapur, July 4 (MExN): The Naga Hoho has fervently appealed to all political groups/ organizations to revoke all forms of ex-communication/ ban on any community/ individuals if such cases are still persisting unaddressed so as to ensure the spirit of genuine reconciliation among the Naga families. This was stated by the Naga Hoho while extending its acknowledgement to the NSCN/GPRN for issuing revocation order lifting the ban on the Sumi Hoho without any condition.

“The Naga Hoho is extremely happy and extends its acknowledgement to NSCN/GPRN for issuing revocation order (ahza) lifting the ban on Sumi Hoho without any condition. We strongly believe that such gesture shall surely strengthen the reconciliation and peace process simultaneously in days to come”, stated the press note issued by Naga Hoho President Keviletuo Kiewhuo and General Secretary P. Chuba Ozukum.

Stating that the Naga Hoho was “perturbed over the banning of Sumi apex organizations (Sumi Hoho and Western Sumi Hoho) by NSCN (IM) authority due to certain apprehensions between the two parties”, the Naga Hoho pointed out that it was its bounden duty to protect and safeguard the welfare of every constituent unit of the Naga Hoho. “Nevertheless, whatever the motive may be, banning of organizations or imposition of one’s will upon others will further aggravate the human relationship and we foresee that the Naga Hoho may be at the receiving end so long the tussle continues between NSCN (IM) and the Sumi apex organizations”.

This was stated by Naga Hoho on July 31, 2008 requesting both the parties to trash out the differences by sitting across the table in the interest of common Naga people. Keeping these in mind, the Naga Hoho informed that it had also reached out to both the Sumi Hoho and NSCN/GPRN with the best of intention to bring amicable solution without further delay. “Inevitably, we were put in an awkward position towards strengthening the hands of Naga Hoho as visualized earlier owing to non cooperation from both the parties for almost two years”.  Nevertheless, the Naga Hoho pointed out that it was “better late than never” and welcomed the decision on lifting of the ban imposed against the Sumi Hoho.
