Many have written on the novel of Dan Brown “The Da Vinci Code” and expressed their different views. But most of the writers criticized the author of the book/movie and condemned the novel. Some of the writers without taking the blasphemy nature of the book said it is only fiction. May I request the readers to kindly open your dictionary and find out the actual meaning of ‘Fiction’. According to the New Webster Dictionary of English Language- Modern Desk Edition (Surjeet Publication) it says ‘fiction is a creation of imagination, a falsehood, an assumption that something false may be accepted as true. And according to Oxford Advanced Dictionary, fiction is not real, a thing that is invented or imagines and is not true. So, a true believer, if he/she knows the actual/exact meaning of fiction will definitely condemn the author of the book Dan Brown as an anti-Christian though he himself claims to be a Christian. He is trying to misguide the people in general and the nominal Christians.
The young people who do not read the Bible much in true Christian spirit may believe the False as True through this novel or movie. Let us open our Bible to know to know what is deceive (in other words false). Paul in his letter to Ephesians 4:14 wrote “That we no more be children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness by which they lie in wait to deceive”. From these verse we can easily know and take Dan Brown is trying to deceive the people by using his cunning craftiness. And also let us see what the chief priest who wanted Jesus to be crucified said Pilate’s court when Pilate after washing his hand said “I am innocent of the blood of this righteous person.” The chief priests in unison said “His blood be on us and on our children” (Matt 27:24-25)
So, let us presume that Dan Brown is one of the descendents of those priests or a distant relative who has blood relationship with the priests. The teaching faculty of Clark Theology of Mokokchung has rightly said “Dan Brown is the greatest liar in the history of Christiandom”. Vetshete Doulo has also rightly pointed out that faith of the Christian Church was tempted in the fire from all kinds of attacks and controversies. He appealed to the believers to wear the armor of faith and fight against the blasphemy work of Dan Brown ‘Da Vinci Code’ a work of fiction in disguise. He also appealed the believers to spread the good news in a more effective way than before and advocate against this tricky work of Dan Brown, the Anti Christ. So let us take our armor of God to withstand in the evil days.
