Tuensang: Nagaland Police Baptist Churches Association converge for annual Council

The Police Baptist Church, Tuensang hosted the 35th General Annual Council of the Nagaland Police Baptist Churches Association (NPBCA) with the theme “Experiencing God together - Acts 2: 42-47.” A total of 28 churches affiliated with NPBCA across Nagaland are participating in the three-day council meeting from January 19 to 21.

The opening service, presided over by Rev Dr H A Zhimomi, Executive Secretary of NPBCA, commenced with Punuruh Veswuh, Recording Secretary, leading the congregation. Dr H Ndang, President of NPBCA, delivered the keynote address, sharing personal experiences and emphasising the importance of experiencing God personally. Ndang urged attendees to let God live in them and live in God, highlighting the transformative power of such an experience.

The worship team from Police Baptist Church, Mon led hymn singing, and Punuruh Veswuh conducted the call to worship and invocation. The youth of PBC Tuensang presented a performance illustrating the introduction of Christianity to Nagaland and the significance of living together in harmony and peace.

Rev Renphamo Odyuo, Vice President of NPBCA, took roll call, followed by a responsive reading led by Vimeko Sophie, Youth Director of 4th NAP, Thizama. Changsangsomba, Pastor of PBC Tuensang, delivered the welcome address, and a PowerPoint presentation by PBC, Phek, highlighted church activities.

The programme included a necrology led by Chingthai, Pastor of PBC Longleng, to remember loved ones lost in the past year. PBC Mokokchung presented a duet performance, and Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Tuensang, conveyed a message of greetings. Bible readings from the Old and New Testaments were conducted by Emilo Ngullie and Arenla Aier, respectively.

PBC 3rd NAP, Tuensang, presented a group song, and the service concluded with a benediction by P Shophu, Pastor of PBC Shamator.

On the second day, Rev Rukuveyi Nienu, Pastor of PBC 9thNAP (IR), Saijang, led the morning devotion. Various church departments presented their reports during the business session, which included the approval of Executive Committee minutes and budget presentation.

The day session featured a farewell service for Rev Limatemsu, former Pastor of PBC Chümoukedima. Rev A Temsu, Pastor of PBC Chümoukedima led the service, which included invocation by C Tongchinglemla Chang, Women Leader of PBC Wokha, and a special song by PBC 7th NAP, Bhandari.

Short speeches were delivered by Dr H Ndang, Rev Rakhu Livi, Chairman, Ordination Board), and Rev Peuhau N Hau, Chairman, Pastor’s Fellowship. After a response from Rev Limatemsu, a special prayer for the outgoing Pastor of PBC Mokokchung was led by the Executive Secretary of NPBCA. The programme concluded with a closing hymn and benediction prayer by G Kath, Pastor of PBC 14th NAP (IR) Kiphire.
