When we talk about yellow page it may be a new name for our people and to my expectation only 10 percent of Naga people know what yellow page is! However, in other states and cities in India it is by now more than 25 years old.
Now a question arises i.e. what is yellow page? So to answer in short term yellow page is a collection of advertisements from all private sector companies and enterprises and those advertisements will be published in a book which is called yellow pages. This book is published for one year and every day people can use yellow pages. Yellow pages plays an important role in our day to day life because by using yellow pages people can locate/identify any shops, hotels, restaurants, clinics, repairing shops, coaching classes, hostels, beauty parlors etc. As far as the advantages of yellow pages are concerned the best example to illustrate here is, suppose you want to buy an electric gas lighter but you don’t know the shop and only after searching, spending much effort and time you may find the shop but suppose if our Naga people have yellow page like states you can locate everything regarding to private establishment and enterprises. Another advantage of yellow page is for travelers and tourists, they will use yellow page and locate any necessary hotels, tourist lodges, restaurants or important spots etc. Lastly it is important to note that one of the best advantages of yellow page is for the advertisers. People can use yellow page everyday and every kind of advertisements in yellow page will be necessary for people and will be used throughout the year.
The population in Nagaland is increasing day by day and with the increase in population many kinds of private enterprises and companies are increasing each day and in order to get and give maximum benefit to the people not only to the Nagas but to those people entering our state like tourists and travelers, I believe yellow pages would be a guideline for everyone. If it is God’s will, I hope that our people will also get a book like “Yellow Page Nagaland” sooner than expected.
