Participants attending the inaugural function of the 5th Altrura Open Football Tournament organised by Altrura Society (AuS) on September 6.
Dimapur, September 6 (MExN): The 5th Altrura Open Football Tournament, under the aegis of Altrura Society (AuS) commenced on September 6 under the theme, ‘Dream, Believe, Achieve’ at Chümoukedima Town Local Ground with Thejavizo Nakhro, EAC & Administrator, Chümoukedima Town Council as the special guest in the opening ceremony.
Altogether 21 teams from different parts of Nagaland are participating in this 10 days long tournament.
In his inaugural speech, the EAC encouraged the player to play with True sportsman spirit with free, fair and discipline manner and to respect both the game and the opponent, above all he stress on the player to play for the love of the game, He also lauded the Altrura Society for the social services and for organising such events creating a platform for the youth to display their skills and talents.
Earlier, the inaugural event was compered by Neivikho Savi, Information & Publicity Secretary Altrura Society (AuS), Kevisikho Sokra, Pastor Union Baptist Church Chümoukedima pronounced the invocation, welcome address by Visakuolie Medom, President AuS, Special no. was presented by Tutu Terhüja, Oath taking by Shurhotsilie Theunuo, Assistant Games & Sports Secretary AuS, while vote of thanks was delivered by Mhasileto Medoze Advisor AuS.
The opening match was played between Sumi Boys Vrs Legend Chümoukedima Town and Sumi boys emerged winner with 4-2 goals.
