78 Bn CRPF construct water storage tank for villagers

Zubza, February 16 (MExN): The 78 Bn CRPF at Zubza, Kohima constructed water storage tank for the villagers of Mezo Basa in Kohima district under its Civic Action Programme. The water storage tank with overhead cover and plinth was inaugurated by Sarbjit Singh, DIGP CRPF Kohima on February 15, according to a press release from the Battalion.

Commandant Neeraj Yadav in his speech informed that the village councils have been contacted to ensure proper utilization of funds. Keping in view the difficulties being experienced by the villagers and as requested by them, the water storage tank was constructed and made available to the villagers, he added.  

He also said that 78 Bn Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is organizing such programme every year and trying to address the grievances and to provide the least basic amenities to the nearby villagers. In future also, the CRPF will try to get more funds so that requirement of villagers will be met, he further assured. The Commandant expressed gratitude to the villagers of Mezo Basa and its neighboring villages for their extended cooperation and cordial relationship. He also requested the DIGP CRPF Kohima to get more funds released so that more things can be done for local people.  

The inauguration programme was attended by village chairmen of neighbouring villages, village chairman of Mezo Basa, members of Mezo Basa women organisation and youth organisation.
