The Mon District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on June 10 visited the families affected by the heavy rainfall and strong wind which occurred on June 5 (Monday) early morning. On behalf of the Mon DDMA, Tsenthungo E Ngullie, EAC, Mon handed over the relief money to all the effected households.
According to records collected from all the wards, more than seventy-two households have been affected and many other families were displaced who now sheltering in and around Mon town mostly in the house of their relatives.
Many Buildings and roads in town areas still lays damaged by strong wind and heavy rain leading to landslide. The Chingai and Jahjong wards of Mon Town are the most affected areas. Other places where buildings and roads were damaged are in Papong, Techahan, Walo, Tompang, Wagiem and Shamnyu wards.
