26th District Level Hindi Diwas observed by All Nagaland Hindi Teachers' Union (ANHTU), Kohima Unit today focused on buoying up Hindi language in the state through the role of Hindi teachers. 


Guest Speaker Zakienei Khoubve, Deputy Director (Hindi) who was speaking at Ura Academy Hall pointed that Director of School Education (DoSE) has 2300 Hindi teachers, out of which more than 700 are untrained. Despite the figure, deputy director added that many schools are still running without hindi teachers, not having the facility to set-up training courses. 


Proficiency in the language will enable us to easily communicate outside the state, he viewed while stating that over the years, hindi teachers has contributed well to promote the language. Towards this, he stated that 20-22 private Hindi institutions are functioning in the state. 


During the occasion, the speaker apprised the gathering that it has compiled 162 retirement vacancies and has submitted to the government for approval and also vouched for setting up of training centre in the state apart from the Central Institute of Hindi (CIH), Agra and Vishesh Gahan (Academic session 2019-20) at CIH, Dimapur Centre. 


Presenting 14 points of Hindi, Khriemenuo highlighted that Hindi Diwas is observed all over the country to mark the importance of Hindi language and show respect to our national language. 


ANHTU President Romero Sema also delivered short speech and asserted that hindi language which is often perceived to be promoting religious interest is not so, but as a ‘language.’


Earlier, the programme was chaired by Vunthunglo and Ketoulhoulie Koutsu and welcome address was delivered by ANHTU, Kohima Unit President Vizothal Zhotso.
