DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 11 (MExN): The Eastern Naga National Workers Union (ENNWU) of the NSCN (IM) today reaffirmed support to the proposed Pan Naga Hoho.

A press release from the ENNWU informed that it held a meeting at Dimapur on February 10 to discuss on the “critical importance” of the Pan Naga Hoho for the Nagas at this crucial juncture of Indo-Naga political talks “that is nearing signing the political agreement.”

“In the course of the long period of negotiations it has been agreed upon by NSCN negotiating team and the Government of India that this statutory body shall be established so that Nagas everywhere will be able to get together under one body under the banner of Naga flag. We are highly impressed by the positive outcome of the Indo-Naga political talks on Pan Naga Hoho and Naga flag. Because, the essence of the Naga nationhood and political movement is being kept alive under this arrangement,” the ENNWU said.

The meeting further elaborated that Pan Naga Hoho will enable “Nagas everywhere to come under one umbrella.” “There is no need to develop any wrong concept because Pan Naga Hoho is simply a cultural body that brings all Nagas under one banner and would stand for the welfare and development of all Nagas,” it stated.

The ENNWU further recalled the stand taken by ENPO on December 18, 2007 in  Tuensang, wherein a resolution was adopted to support unification of all Nagas regardless of territorial demarcation. “ENNWU’s stand is a reiteration of that resolution,” it said.

The ENNWU meeting was attended by Tongmeth Wangnao, Vice-President; TT Among, Collective Leadership member; and Moba Chang, Collective Leadership member.
