Govt take stock of offices damaged in Kohima on Feb 2

• Total 30 offices damaged

• Affected offices to submit reports by February 25

Kohima, February 24 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS has informed that altogether thirty (30) offices have been damaged on that evening where seventeen offices have submitted their reports and further requested the other affected offices to submit their reports by February 25, 2017 evening for onward submission to the Government.  

The DC informed this during the co-ordination meeting with all the heads of offices under Kohima district and offices affected/damaged on the evening of February 2, 2017 in DC’s Conference hall, Kohima on February 24.  

The meeting was held to discuss on the offices damaged/affected and also to make arrangement for the affected offices to function temporarily in other district offices and sister departments where spare rooms would be available.  

Terming the February 2nd incident as unfortunate where many offices were burned down, the DC lamented that it was a big lost not only for the affected offices but the State as well, as the hard work of the entire offices have been destroyed. He said that as a team, co-operation and assistance is required to show the team spirit and help the affected departments to be back on track. To which, the DC requested all heads of offices to spot any spare rooms available in its office buildings and to submit a report by February 25, 2017 evening in order to let them function temporarily for few months. He also urged the offices to take the matter seriously and make arrangement for the affected offices.  

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Lithrongla Tongpi also informed that some office items have been recovered by the Kohima Village Youth Organisation during the incident which were kept under the custody of the Dobashi at DC’s Court and further requested the concerned offices to collect it after verifying it.  

In the meeting, various district heads of offices and representatives also shared their grievances facing at present and some other offices also highlighted on the alternative arrangement made so far for accommodation.
