IAS Association Nagaland condemns assault on Delhi CS

KOHIMA, FEBRUARY 22 (DIPR): The Nagaland unit of the IAS Association today condemned the physical assault on Delhi's Chief Secretary on the night of February 19 by MLAs at the Chief Minister's Residential Office in Delhi. A press release from President, IAS Association Nagaland, Sentiyanger termed the act "criminal, cowardly and deplorable". “We stand by our colleagues in Delhi and demand immediate arrest of the perpetrators of such shameful act," the association demanded and urged the Government of India to ensure security and safety of all their colleagues, across the country. It also demanded immediate action to book the perpetrators of the dastardly act under the appropriate sections of law. “Failure to guarantee safety and security of IAS officers can result in a functional crisis and breakdown of governance and hence, exemplary punishment to the perpetrators of this unfortunate incident is a must,” the association warned.
