DC Dimapur urged to examine land issues under army occupation

Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): The forum of Dimapur Landowners Pattadars has urged the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur to examine issues in connection with lands under army occupation in Dimapur and forward it to the union defence ministry at the earliest.

In a representation to the DC Dimapur, the forum highlighted that during a deliberation regarding the issue on May 24, 2023, it informed the former DC regarding the prolonged delay matter and requested him to forward the matter to the defence ministry. 
The former DC, as per the forum, DC agreed forward the same the ministry. 

It further said that the issue was also highlighted in a letter to the present DC on February 6, 2024.  

However, the forum stated that although initially it was informed that the matter had been sent and was awaiting the government's opinion, last year, it was recently revealed that the same had not been sent.

The forum has been writing to the government for decades in connection with the matter, it added. 

To this end, the stated that process of army occupied land has reached the stage of handing over and taking over and even the defence ministry wants to finalise and settle it as early as possible.

Moreover, the joint survey map was already approved by the defence ministry and the forum has submitted a list of registered members to the office as directed, it added. 

Accordingly, it requested the DC Dimapur to examine and forward it to the defence ministry at the earliest.
