Addressing the gathering, Dr. C.P. Anto, Director, Peace Channel and Principal NEISSR highlighted the increasing need for efforts to build peace and spread the message of peace.

“Indifference is one of the fundamental causes for conflicts and the lack of peace. This indifference leads to individualism which in turn results in isolation, ignorance and selfishness,” he said. He called upon everyone present to unlearn and then relearn to be an agent of peace. “We need to unlearn things from our history, our environment and from everything that have shaped as who we are, yet make us selfish or indifferent to the injustice that is happening around us,” he said.

“We need to relearn the human values that will make us strive for unity and also develop concerns for our fellow human beings and the things which are hindering us from achieving our rights,” he added.

A press release said that Dr. Anto thanked the people, well wishers and friends who have been associated with the Peace Channel since its inception. He expresses gratitude for the concern that everyone has towards Peace Channel. ‘A genuine human concern for our fellow being is the beginning of real peace’, he asserted.
