Kohima Bible College alumni meet 2017 held

The alumni of Kohima Bible College (KBC) today shared their fond memories and experiences and renewed its commitment to reason together and put head together to push the college forward. They came again here in unison from the different places and reaffirmed as KBC family at the Alumni Meet 2017 held here today in commemoration with the 47th Anniversary of KBC.  

Formed in 1970, KBC was the first bible college in Nagaland and 2nd in the North East.  

Rev. Neivotso Neikha, mission director CRC North East India, (first batch of KBC) recalled the formal inauguration of this college on August 1, 1970 by former chief minister Late Hokishe Sema. He challenged the alumni to put head together, adding that “If we unite together, wonder and mighty things can happen.”  

Sharing his association with KBC during initial stage, Rev. Dr. DL Sanchu, executive secretary ACRCC said that golden era has passed away. In former days, “we faced a lot of challenges, hardship due to social, political and denominational barriers in our mission works.”  

Stating that with new era arrived and greater and wider doors have opened to us, he said a time has come to evangelize to reach the unreached people and carry the mission and message of God to the people. With new era come to us through modern technology, he said, we can have a better and more effective evangelism and we need to be equipped with all modern technology also in the mission work.  

Recollecting his memories in KBC during 1996-2000, John Monger, now pastor, International Restoration Church, Austin, Texas conveyed indebtedness to KBC for what he is today.  

He asked the fellow alumni to keep constant touch with KBC wherever they are in and see that the KBC grow from strength to strength. “We need to build KBC together,” Monger said and further called upon the alumni to always share the good things about KBC and continue to pray and support this college in whatever capacity they placed in.  

Sharing KBC vision 2020, KBC Principal Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo said, “We want to produce quality” declaring that quality will be the main focus on the threshold of the college attaining 50 years.  

Stating that the products of KBC have spread over different parts of the world, he said now we want to produce the best of the best by 2020. He said some of the products of KBC are now serving in China, US, South Korea, Africa, Australia, European countries “We are now focusing on producing disciples,” he said. He also sought the support of the alumni and others towards boy’s hostel project.  

Leading the service, KBC Vice Principal Pete Z. Krose said “We are proud for the alumnis who are serving in different capacities in different places and faithfully serving the Lord and above all bearing fruits.” We are thankful to God seeing all these goodness, he added.
