“Man cannot survive without peace”

Kohima | December 13:The state’s Rural Development department today observed advent Christmas here at the RD directorate conference hall.
Parliamentary secretary for rural development S. Pangnyu Phom in his Christmas greeting said that the greatest need of mankind in the world is peace and that God send us his son the Prince of Peace- the greatest gift for mankind.
“Man can survive without money, wealth, education, technology, clothing, shelter and vehicle but cannot survive without peace, if the world is to live in harmony it needs nothing but peace, he said. He also reminded the gathering that Jesus alone is the Almighty God who controls the entire universe,” the parliamentary secretary said.
“Jesus is called wonderful counsellor, because He is exceptional, distinguished, and without peer, the one who gives the right advice, direction, comfort, solace, peace to the mankind and gives strength in life’s cries,” Pangnyu said.
Pangnyu also thanked Almighty God for the wonderful gift of life- life that is full of joy, full of activities and full of challenges, “yet preserving our lives throughout the year from all unknown and unseen dangers and predicaments and having blessed us with this wonderful season to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
He also thanked Commissioner and Secretary, Director and the senior officials who he said have always supportive and had worked with him for the upliftment of the rural sector.
Commissioner & Secretary for rural development V. Sakhrie reminded all to thank God for all that He has done for us in the past and brought us this far inspite of all our shortcomings and limitations.
He also urged them to give their hearts to Christ this Christmas adding that it is meaningless if we celebrate Christmas without Christ in our hearts.
He further encouraged the gathering to “sow the seed of peace wherever they go and be a channel of blessing to their friends and families”.
Rural development director Metsubo Jamir chaired the function. Christmas message was shared by Rev. Moa Longchari, pastor BMC.
Singing competition, lucky dip, Christmas feast also marked the celebration.
