61,757 on live registers of employment

A total of 61,757 applicants remaining on the live register of employment exchanges in Nagaland as one March 31, 2010. Out of 61,757, the total number of male stands at 39,173 and female at 22,584. This was stated in the annual administrative report of the department of employment & craftsmen training, Nagaland. The number of applicants in category of post graduates stands at 1880, graduates- 11,749, pre- university- 10, 340, matriculate- 13, 107, below metric- 23,913, degrees (tech)- 367 and diploma- 401.

Colony against sale of banned drugs, alcohol

Dimapur, April 18 (MexN): The Sepfüzou Colony Welfare Board has come out strongly against sale of banned drugs and alcohol within its jurisdiction. It has asked its members to refrain from such anti-social activities and report to the authority concerned if anybody is found violating the laws for necessary action, according to a release issued by the chairman of the board, Keviletso Sechü. Further, the board has informed all its members to participate in the mass social work to be conducted on April 20.

THN flays attack on Phungyar MLA

Dimapur, April 18 (MExN): The Tangkhul Hoho Nagaland (THN) has condemned the ‘attempted assassination attack’ on the life of Phungyar constituency MLA, Wungnaosheng Keishing on April 15, 2011 near Riha Routei village in Ukhrul district, Manipur. THN President, NA Kasar in a condemnation note said that the vicious and cowardly attack resulted the death of 8 (eight) innocent lives and injuring many others. While condemning such heinous crime regardless of the identity of the perpetrators; the THN also offer condolence to the families of the victims and compassion to those injured and prays for their speedy recovery. “No political cause could ever be attained through such barbaric acts and therefore, the THN appeals to all concerned to shun from the path of violence,” the note added.
