With Christmas in the air, the most awaited event of the town and perhaps the biggest carol competition in the state, popularly known as C5 will take place on December 18. The Mokokchung Town Baptist Church Youth Department is prepping up to celebrate the 30th edition of Children Christmas Cake Carol Competition under the theme “Behold the Star” at the town square. This year, the C5 has a total of 950 participants from nine fellowships under Mokokchung Town Baptist Church Youth Department.
C5 started small in 1989 with a budget of Rs 50. Monglier, Youth Evangelist told the media that today it has gotten bigger and better which he said is “a testament of God’s faithfulness towards the Youth Department.” He added that the competition in essence is about building relationship and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Planning Committee consisting youths from nine Fellowships under the Youth Department are working tirelessly to make the event successful. Leaders and parents are chipping in too towards the preparations for the event.
Children of United Christian Fellowship and members of Youth With a Mission (YWAM), who are on a visit to Mokokchung will also perform at the event. The Planning Committee invited all- the townsfolk as well as visitors to participate in the event.
