Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) organized a silent procession today in Mokokchung town in protest against the killing of civilians by Indian security forces at Oting village, Mon on December 4 last. Representatives from Ao Senden, Watsü Mungdang, Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Mokokchung, Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Mokokchung and Tenyimia Students’ Union Mokokchung also participated in the procession that started at Imkongmeren Sports Complex and culminated at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mokokchung. AKM also submitted a memorandum to the governor of Nagaland through the Mokokchung DC on December 6.
Sümi Hoho and its frontal organizations, as resolved during an emergency meeting on December 5 at Zunheboto, imposed complete shutter down in Zunheboto town on December 6 from 6:00 am to 12 noon to express resentment and extend solidarity to the victims killed and injured by the Indian security forces on December 4 at Oting village of Mon district.
