National mathematics training prog ends

Kohima, December 17 (MExN): The week-long Mathematics Training and Talent Search (MTTS) programme concluded on December 8 at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma. The programme saw the participation of 50 students from colleges and institutes all over the Northeast.


A press release stated here that during the valedictory session, Prof Bhaba Kumar Sarma of IIT Guwahati, the academic coordinator said that this was one of the best MTTS programmes in terms of hospitality and participation. He said that though all over the country the level of mathematical knowledge and background of the participants vary widely, he has seen the highest increment in learning in this Mini-MTTS programme hosted by KSCJ.


Principal of KSCJ Dr Lily Sema addressed the participants and gave away the certificates. The session also saw the participation of Prof G Santhanam from IIT Kanpur and Prof Mangesh B Rege, retired professor of NEHU Shillong. Manash Protim Goswami, Darrang College, Tezpur, Kynsaiboklang Lating, St Anthony’s College, Shillong, John Rohmingthanga, Lunglei Government College, Mizoram and Vikas Mukhiya, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma also spoke on the occasion.
