NCS probationers encouraged to serve in remote areas

Land Resources, Secretary, Kikheto Y. Sema today called upon the NCS probationers to opt for posting at remote area of the state at the initial stage. He asked them to take serving in the remote area as a challenge and work with the rural people with sincerity and dedication.  

Addressing the NCS probationers here at ATI, Sema he also asked them to adopt some villages for overall development of the rural populace. He also asked them to be a missionary for socio-economic transformation.  

Also asking them to focus on quality education and value of life, he also called upon them to voluntary teach the students in their free time in the event of shortage of teachers. He also stressed on the need to emphasis on dignity of labour, encourage on local products and proper coordination with the other departments.  

Sema further stressed on the requirement of Vocational, Skill Development Education and taking up entrepreneurship and business. Stating that Nagaland had spent Rs.650 crore on import of pork last year, he stressed on the need to encourage local products.  

Stating that there are around 11,400 Naga students studying in various educational institution in Shillong and spending Rs. 235 crores annually, he stressed on the need to focus towards establishment of quality schools, colleges, technical institutions, hospitals, etc. in the state for better circulation of money within the state.  

Lamenting that there is trust deficit among the people, Sema called for cordial relationship between civil societies and government, politicians and bureaucracy and regard and respect between inter-service associations, etc. He also expressed deep concern over the excess departments/demands, excess schools, district administration and offices, over employed of teachers, police, EEs & JEs, etc in the state. He also highlighted huge recurring expenditure – eg. Salary, Wages, Work-charged, Leave Encashment, Pensions, etc.  

Further, Sema expressed concern over too many roads and maintenance problems in Nagaland , saying Nagaland has 18,000 sq.km of road network. Touching on loss of revenue on power, he called upon the NCS probationers to make necessary awareness to the public for timely payment of power and water bills.
