An angry mob set all the furniture and utensils of the NSCN (IM)’s Shepoumaramth Region office on fire after its cadres allegedly beat to death a young man in Senapati (NNN)
SENAPATI, February 10 (NNN): A furious mob ransacked the regional office of NSCN (IM)’s Shepoumaramth Region in Senapati district headquarters on Saturday evening. The mob then took out all the furniture from the NSCN (IM) office and set them on fire.
The mob gathered on Saturday following the killing of a civilian identified as one A. Shepao (28), resident of Makhrelui village of Senapati town. He was brutally beaten to death allegedly by NSCN (IM) cadres few days back.
Demanding that the NSCN (IM) vacate the Shepoumaramth regional office, the agitated mob ransacked the regional office and after taking the sofa sets, chairs, tables, kitchen utensils, mattresses and blankets, the angry public set all the goods on fire in full public view.
Earlier, various Naga organisations including the United Naga Council, All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur, Naga Peoples’ Movement for Human Rights, Naga Women Union and others had condemned the killing of the man by the alleged NSCN (IM) cadres.
