Kohima, October 22 (MExN): The 23rd Phekmi farmers’ day celebration cum tug of war competition coinciding with Khilünyie festival will take place on November 15 at Phek village under the aegis of Phek Farmers Club (PFC). Besüpra Swuro, general secretary, NPF central will be the chief guest, while Khütseiyi Vero, retired PA to Phek DC will be the guest of honour.
Hukhonieyi Soho, PET, GHS Phek village will be the chief judge of tug of war competition. The first prize for tug of war competition will be Rs. 20,000, while second and third will be Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5000 respectively.
The inaugural function will take place at 9:00 am, to be chaired by Chinetso Hoshi, vice president, PFC.
Welcome address will be delivered by Thüputhiyi Venuh, chief coordinator PFC, while acknowledgement will be led by PFC president Chekhünieyi Vero.
Phek village head GB Dusanü Venuh will also exhort the gathering and PFC games & sports secretary Küveliito Keyho will administer oath to the participating teams of tug of war competition.
