Sensitization on Agripreneurship held in Kohima

Kohima, October 4 (MExN): One day collaborative training on ‘Sensitization on Agripreneurship’ sponsored by National Institute of Agricultural Management (NIAM), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, GoI and ATMA Nagaland was held at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Agriculture, Kohima on September 27.
Dr I Amenla, Joint Director of Agriculture in her introductory speech stressed on engaging the unemployed youth in Agriculture and also on “understanding the bigger picture” as it involves not only farming but fields which can be diversified into Agribusiness.
The resource persons Niekepekho Shosahie, Management Consultant and Kheto Sema, Project Manager, Naga Hills Agro Producers Enterprise (NHAPE), Global Network Group were sourced through Youth Net, Nagaland.
Shosahie spoke on Agribusiness and how to stay current with market demand and local operating realities. He spoke on factors that an agripreneur should consider in starting an agribusiness such as interest that matches his/her skills, how to generate business ideas, understanding marketing and its processes, branding, contract farming.
Kheto Sema resource person spoke on networking and building relationship in a business which was important for any business to succeed. He spoke on documentation, finances, schemes and subsidies that agripreneurs, FPOs and FPC can avail.
The sessions were followed by discussions and interactions and feedback from participants.
