Union Minister assures Manipur to release funds early

Union minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Thawar Chand Gehlot assured the Manipur government that funds will be released at the earliest for the welfare of the deprived sections of the society as well as for the physically-challenged people.

 

This assurance was made when Manipur Social Welfare and Cooperation minister, Nemcha Kipgen called on the Union minister at his office chamber in New Delhi on September 4.

 

Kipgen highlighted the activities of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur mainly the schemes for persons with disability, older persons and prevention of alcohol and substance abuse (drugs) during the meeting with the Union minister Gehlot and the concern officers of each sections of various departments of Social Justice and Empowerment.

 

Kipgen then expressed that the meeting was fruitful as Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment has been taking keen interest and thoroughly assessing the proposals submitted by the Department to sanction funds for various schemes.

 

It may be mentioned that  Kipgen has recently pursued funds for the Cooperation Department from the Centre as well.
