VAC Mitelephe conducts 2018-19 culmination programme

Kohima, March 2 (MExN): Village Adoption Committee (VAC) of 14th Southern Angami under District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), Kohima held its culmination programme on March 2 at Mitelephe village, adopted under VAC for the year 2018 to 2019.


During the programme, multiple activities were held such as medical camp, inauguration of installation of solar lights at landmark areas within the village and distribution of blankets to the senior citizens. Awareness programme was also held with inputs from all the VAC members touching upon important issues such as forest and environmental conservation, youth development, sensitization of the village community on sharing of village resources, soil and water management, health and sanitation, community development, school management and strengthening of the local institutions.


Convenor Er. Vizotuo EE (R & B) South gave a brief background of the concept of VAC under DPDB Kohima. DFO Kohima Rongsenlemla Imchen highlighted about the various activities implemented by the VAC and its objectives.


SDO Jakhama, AlemyapangLongchar spoke about the responsibilities of the village functionaries for proper management of the village.


According to the press release by the VAC, various activities were implemented with the participation of the village community during the last 8 months viz, construction of water reservoir for proper tapping of potable water for the village community, reinforcement of approach roads within and outside the village jurisdiction for proper transportation, distribution of sports kits, waste bins, computer sets for schools and PA system for Village council.


The program was also attended by students under NSS of Model Christian College.
