One person was killed and another injured in a road accident at Changtongya town, Mokokchung on April 19. The accident occurred near the town’s Government High School.
As per a report from Changtongya, a Maruti van with two persons went off the road and rolled down some 400 feet. The deceased, who was on the wheel and identified as Imsuyanger Longkumer of Akhoya village, died on the spot. The other survived with injury, it said.
In another mishap in Kohima today, a car with three people plunged into the Sanuoru stream at the New Secretariat Road. According to the police, it occurred around 2:00 pm as a Mahindra TUV300 was rounding the curve near the Sanuoru footbridge while heading towards the Highschool Junction. The vehicles unidentified male occupants, including the driver survived with minor injuries.
