A 10 year-old girl was found dead in Kohima on August 28. The circumstances under which the victim’s body was found however remain unexplained. Police issued a press release stating they received information about the “death of a minor in the Kohima town area” on August 28. “Subsequently, police team conducted mandatory legal formalities - inquest and post-mortem. Also place of occurrence was visited and examined by officers of DEF Kohima and Forensic Team, Dimapur, supervised by ASof Police, Kohima. In this connection, a case has been registered and investigation initiated.” No further details were revealed.
