100-days awareness campaign on empowering women in Nagaland

Kohima, June 25 (MExN): A 100 Days Special Awareness Campaign under SANKALP-Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW) under Mission Shakti on Women Centric Schemes has been launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, which will run from June 21 to October 4. 

This was informed during a meeting of the State-Level Committee for Mission Shakti was held under the Chairpersonship of the Chief Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Dr J Alam, IAS at Conference Hall, Chief Secretary, New Secretariat, Kohima on June 24.  

This was stated in a press release issued by State Hub for Empowerment of Women (SHEW), Nagaland. 

Chief Secretary emphasised that the 100 day awareness campaign should be effectively carried out on the ground. 

Martha R Ritse, IAS, Secretary, Social Welfare, while giving an introduction to Mission Shakti, provided an overview of the 100 Days Special Awareness Campaign under SANKALP-Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW) on Women Centric Schemes, launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, which will run from June 21 to October 4, 2024. 

She said the key objective of the programme is to ensure that women across the country are made aware of initiatives of the Government, and to enable them to access the resources and support available to them. Under the banner of SANKALP-HEW & Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), special awareness campaigns will be carried out in all 16 districts of Nagaland. 

Presentations were made on the status of the implementation of Mission Shakti Scheme in the State, and the Annual State Action Plan for Mission Shakti for the Financial Year 2024-25, which was approved was also presented. 

Joint deliberation was held to strengthen convergent action plan for implementation of various Mission Shakti Schemes which include SANKALP-HEW, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Sakhi-One Stop Centre, 181-Women Helpline, Pradhan Mantri Mantru Vandana Yojana, Palna, Sakhi Niwas, and Shakti Sadan). 

The meeting was attended by AHODs and representatives from various converging departments.
