100-room patients’ hostel to be set up in Dimapur

Kohima, September 14 (MExN): A 100-room Patients’ Hostel facility to alleviate the hardships faced by people coming from remote areas of Nagaland to Dimapur for medical treatment is in the pipeline, the PRO to Governor informed on Tuesday.

“Governor of Nagaland RN Ravi has been concerned about our people coming from remote areas of Nagaland to Dimapur for medical treatment and unavailability of affordable lodging facilities. The commercial lodges and hotels are expensive for our poor people augmenting their misery, woes and hardship,” the PRO stated in a press release.

As such, it said that the Governor had envisioned setting up a 100-room patients’ hostel facility in Dimapur to mitigate their problem. In this regard, “a dear friend of his and ardent well wisher of the people of Nagaland,” Union Cabinet Minister of Power, New and Renewable Energy Raj Kumar Singh readily agreed to meet the cost of this project, the release stated.

As instructed by the Governor, the Dimapur Deputy Commissioner has tentatively located the land and has been tasked to prepare building plan and management of the Patients’ Hostel. The State Government has been requested to provide the needed assistance and guidance to the Dimapur Deputy Commissioner for early completion of the project, it stated.
Soon, the proposed facility will be finished and will start serving the needy people of Nagaland, it added.
