The Fountain Club has informed that the last date for submission of forms for the forthcoming ‘10th edition of Nagaland Spelling Bee Championship 2023’ has been extended till October 3.
Announcing this during media briefing at Hotel Japfu Kohima, the event convenor Vipopal Kintso requested the concerned educational institutions across Nagaland to join the event.
The 10th edition under the theme 'The Learning Edge', have been scheduled for October 5 to 6 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma near Kohima.
Two spellers from each school/institution from Class 6-9 are eligible for the event.
Noting the less number of participants from government schools, Kintso made a special request to the government school authority to join the event this time in bigger number.
Spelling Bee event open the minds of the students and contribute ‘learning edge’ to students, he said.
Fountain Club chairman, Ruokuovikho Chale maintained that the Spelling Bee Championship is growing from strength to strength since its inception in 2012 and attributed its success to partners, sponsors, teachers, students and parents.
Fountain Club consists of 17 members and involve in literary activities, environmental issue and social services.
Club member Vilekho Bio also extended invitation to all the schools to be part of the championship.
Spelling Bee is an annual activity of the Fountain Club since 2012 in collaboration with State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) Nagaland.
Other partners includes; The Morung Express, Excellogics Tech Solutions, Crystal Cables and Mirrorless Films.
Prize money enhanced
The prize money for the championship has been enhanced. Now, the champion will be awarded with Rs. 80,000. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th position will get Rs. 60,000, Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively. The quarter finalists will also be awarded with Rs. 10,000 each. Young speller will also be awarded with Rs. 10,000.

Forms have also been made available in SCERT and all DIET centres (Chiechama, Mokokchung, Wokha, Pfutsero, Mon, Tuensang, Zunheboto and Dimapur.
