Nagaland Advisor for Land Resources, G Ikuto Zhimomi graced the 10th Inter Departmental Tournament at Zunheboto organised by District Sports Council Zunheboto.
ZUNHEBOTO, SEPTEMBER 7 (MExN): The 10th Zunheboto District Inter Departmental Tournament got underway on September 7 at 9:00 AM at DSCZ Indoor Stadium with G Ikuto Zhimomi, Advisory, Land Resource as special guest. The programme is organised by the District Sports Council Zunheboto and will conclude on September 9.
Advisor G Ikuto urged all the participants to not only focus on winning but to keep in mind the spirit of the game and exhibit quality sportsmanship which further explains the character of an individual sports person and further urged that while winning is important, building relationship should be the primary goal.
Highlights of the programme were invocation prayer by Kughavi V Chishi, Pastor, NCRC; welcome speech by Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS; special song by ANPSA (Z); oath taking by Vikaho Zhimomi, member, DSCZ; and lastly the Advisor declared the tournament open.
The departments are competing in badminton doubles and single and carom doubles. Altogether 27 badminton doubles, 25 badminton singles and 34 carom doubles teams from different departments are participating in the tournament.
In the exhibition match played between Nagaland Under 11s & 13s (Nagaland state champion 2023), the Nagaland under13s emerged victorious with a straight set.
