Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): 111 BSF Battalion, Satakha organised civic action programmes in Satakha and Lanyie bridge, Ukhrul District, Manipur and distributed items including water storage tanks, sports equipment, and stationeries to the local populace.
According to a press release received here on Friday, the Battalion consulted and understood the requirements of the local population residing in villages in the area of responsibility and distributed water storage tanks to Shoipu, Sukhai, Chishilimi, Ghukhuyi, Lukhai, Awohumi and Satakha villages. Similarly, sports items were distributed in Chisholimi, Khughutomi, Vishepu, Mudhu Tsugho (Kilomi), Kivikhu villages and GHSS Satakha. Stationeries were also provided to Government Middle School Satakha and medical equipments to PHC Jessami and Sub Centre- Health and Wellness Centre Lossami.
During the programmes which were held on March 15 in Satakha and March 15 at Lanyie Bridge, the gesture of BSF was appreciated by one and all, the release stated, while adding that it would go a long way in maintaining cordial relations and harmony with the local populace. This will also enable the Battalion to discharge its assigned mandate in an effective and efficient manner, it added.
