The 11th edition of the Imsutemjen Memorial Table Tennis Tournament began on December 12 at Amphitheatre, Ungma village, Mokokchung with Imlikokba Longkumer, District Planning Officer, Mokokchung, as the inaugural guest.
Imlikokba Longkumer, while delivering his speech, acknowledged the family of Imsutemjen and reflected on how great a leader he was. He also expressed his appreciation to Late Imsutemjen's family and the Longterok Senden Ungma for organizing such a tournament that nurtures sportsperson, who can bring laurels to the District and provide platform for skilled sports person not just in the district but even beyond.
Ali Walling, President, Mokokchung District Table Tennis Association, also expressed gratitude to the Longterok Senden Ungma for organizing the tourney and also for organizing players to represent Mokokchung District, in the Inter-District Table Tennis Tournament.
During the inaugural programme, six participants, who participated at the Inter-District Table Tennis Tournament, representing Mokokchung, were also felicitated. 61 teams from Mokokchung, Dimapur, Kohima and Wokha have registered for the 11th Imsutemjen Memorial Table Tennis Tournament. The tournament will culminate on December 13.
