12 out of 20: BJP celebrates electoral victory in Nagaland

Dimapur, March 3 (MExN): Amidst firecrackers and victory slogans, the party workers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nagaland along with the candidates and party national general secretary Ram Madhav celebrated the successful election of 12 of its 20 candidates fielded in the just concluded State assembly elections. The results for the polls were declared on March 3.  

A press release from BJP Nagaland State general secretary Jaangsillung Gonmei informed that Ram Madhav who arrived late in the evening at Hotel Saramati here was greeted by a joyous crowd of party workers and candidates. He along with the BJP Nagaland State president Visasolie Lhoungu addressed the gathering briefly and acknowledged the hard work of the party workers and candidates.  

Madhav congratulated the successful candidates “who fared very well and the party workers and said such fruits of successes would not have been possible without relentless and tireless efforts,” the release said. He further thanked each and every party worker who sacrificed their time and energy for the momentous event and promised a most suitable arrangement in the next 24 hours that would bring relief to all the party workers and the people at large, it added.  

The press release further quoted the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tweet, “Thank you Nagaland for supporting @BJP4Nagaland and our valued ally. I assure my sisters and brothers of Nagaland that we will continue to work for the progress and prosperity of Nagaland. I applaud the tireless work of the local BJP unit.”  

Earlier, the BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav also tweeted, “I wish to highlight d spectacular performance of BJP in Nagaland. It has won 12 seats out of d contested 20. Highest ever.”  

The BJP in the release thanked each and every one who had supported the party and brought victory to the party’s candidates.
