12 students conferred NI Jamir Academic Excellence Award

Kohima, June 10 (MExN): The NI Jamir Academic Excellence Award was awarded to 12 students from the Ao community who secured the top 20 position in the HSLC examination 2023 at a formal award ceremony at Molu Ki, Kohima on June 10. 

Advisor Transport, Technical Education, Nagaland, Temjenmenba graced the award programme as the main speaker, stated a DIPR report.

Speaking at the award programme, the Advisor congratulated the toppers for their achievement in the HSLC examination and encouraged them keep working hard and strive to reach greater heights as they continue their studies. 

He exhorted them to take inspiration from the life and achievements of NI Jamir who despite numerous hardships was able to attain the highest government office in the state. He further urged the students to be hardworking and remain humble in success and not lose themselves in the laurels and achievements. He concluded by reminding the students the duty of one and all to make positive contributions to the community and society as a whole in whatever way possible.

Retired Chief Secretary Nagaland, Alemtemshi Jamir IAS, also gave a short speech on behalf of the family of late NI Jamir. He congratulated the toppers for their achievements and thanked the Kohima Onpangkong Telongjem for keeping the legacy of his late father alive through the award.

The NI Jamir Academic Excellence Award is an initiative of the Kohima Ongpangkong Telongjem and has been felicitating academic achievers of the HSLC examination since 2007 and has seen 106 awardees till date. The award carries a certificate of achievement and a cash award of rupees ten thousand.
