127 birth & death registration units under Wokha

Wokha, June 30 (DIPR): Annual departmental co-ordination meeting on Civil Registration of Births & Deaths system was held on June 30 at DC’s conference hall. During the meeting DSO Wokha, Peter Chumdamo apprised the members about the activities under taken by the department with regard to registration of births and deaths.  He informed that there are 127 registration units under Wokha district, where Teachers In charge of Primary and Middle schools and head nurse of PHC & CHC are appointed to facilitate the registration of the rural populace. He also requested the CMO and DEO to direct their staff to be in their respective place of postings to carry out the registration exercise effectively, and he also urged them to submit reports for onward submission to the higher authority. During the meeting, members suggested various ways and means to strengthen the civil registration for Births & Deaths. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of ADC Wokha, Thavaseelan (IAS).
