MON, OCTOBER 30 (MExN): The 13th M Noke Trophy 2018 kicked off today at Local Ground, Mon. The tournament is being organised by the Mon District Football Association.
The first match saw United Minlong FC defeat Real Hong FC 4-0; while New Site FC beat Chila FC 3-0 in the second match. Third match between CCF Fc vs DEF Mon saw a 2-1 victory for the matter. Bongkhao, Advisor DUDA was the special invitee for the opening ceremony. The special invitee in his speech said that sport has always played a vital role in the lives of young people in today's competitive world, while also inculcating a spirit of oneness and unity.
He said that the introduction of the trophy boosted the local players for the next level of challenges. He urged the players to be disciplined and play with sportsmanship; and to uplift the name of Mon.
He was accompanied by Mankhao, ODS to CM and Awan, chairperson Nagaland State Child Protection Commission. Manjun, President MDFA welcomed the players and thanked M Noke and family for sponsoring the trophy.
All together 16 teams have registered for the trophy.
